Special Feature in Blue Magazine Article
This summer, the writers of Drake University’s Blue Magazine reached out to me about writing a first person account of our Africa Trip. They had heard about my blog and wanted to get an in-depth detail on my experience. Well a few months later, I find out that I was fortunate enough to actually make it into the magazine! While originally writing this article, I realized that without this blog, this opportunity would’ve never came about. I also realized that without my visitors who helped spread the word, this site would have no meaning or purpose. So I thank all of you for helping me and my blog reach this point!!!
I posted some picture scans of the pages from the magazine. Feel free to click on the pictures to enlarge them. If you want to read the article and/or the entire magazine digitally – Click Here.
New Video: Kili Bowl Highlight

Yes, the long-awaited highlight is here. I apologize for the wait, it has been a busy summer! Something to Note – The film seems a little short because it was a gritty 17-7 battle with very little “sportscenter” plays to find. Also, our team’s camera batteries were very low in Africa so I couldn’t capture the entire 3rd quarter because it was charging. Nethertheless, I hope you enjoy the highlight film! Song is “Red Nation” by Game featuring Lil Wayne.

Word is that once the full thing is completed, it will be sent to Discovery Channel, Travel Channel & many Tanzanian outlets.

Day 3: Story, Clips & Pics

A Sole Story…
Today we held our second day of Youth camps to the 500 children of Tanzania. During the Linebacker drills, I met a 16 year old boy named Barracka. He was one of the biggest 16 year olds I have ever seen…Which made me notice his large size of feet. When I was talking to him about his shoe size, he told me the struggles of trying to find shoes that actually fit him. He said that his shoes (Original size 14) were either 10′s or 17-18′s. Yet he has been running around playing sports with shoes that don’t even fit his foot. Right then and there, I asked for him to try on my shoe, “Perfect fit” he said. When I told him that he could keep them, he looked stunned. He couldn’t believe that I actually gave him my pair of Nike Running Shoes. If you know me — I LOVE shoes. So in my mind, I didn’t care about giving them away because 1. i know How terrible it is to not wear shoes the same size, and 2. I consider myself lucky to even have one pair of shoes so it was the least I could do.
Video Speech
Here’s a little funny video. Coach C asked me to welcome the boys and girls of Tanzania to the Youth Clinic. I got them pretty fired up!…Enjoy!
